“In Tibet, we say that many illnesses can be cured exclusively by the remedy of love and compassion. These qualities are the ultimate source of happiness, and we need them in our inner most being.” – The Dalai Lama
Today, December 28th, is my birthday and my daughters made my birthday cake. They made a carrot walnut date cake from healthcontinuum.org. You can view the recipe here.
Not only is the cake delicious, but I am touched by the love and compassion that my daughters have shown on my birthday. Love and compassion are inherent to us all and it’s up to us to cultivate these traits.
Living with compassion alleviates suffering and promotes healing. It’s necessary to experience a full, happy and healthy life. It brings enormous benefits to those who give it and receive it.
Thank you Alexandra and Kristen!
Happy birthday, Julie!!
And the cake looks amazing too 🙂
Thanks! Have a great day too!
