Spreading laughter, just for the health of it

We love to laugh because it makes us feel good. People who have more laughter in their lives are, quite often, healthier and happier. Laughter relieves stress and tension. It’s good for your mind, body and spirit. As the old saying goes: laughter is the best medicine. In a previous post, I’ve highlighted 12 reasons to laugh more.

Laughter is a healthy way to respond to situations and it’s contagious, so go ahead and surround yourself with people who have a cheerful disposition and a good sense of humour.

When it comes to spreading laughter, my husband John Zimmer never ceases to amaze me. A few months ago, John did some stand-up comedy in Munich. He got lots of laughs and did very well for his first attempt. The clip is below.

Julie has extensive experience in nursing practice and education in a wide range of fields from intensive/coronary care, to medical-surgical to community and public health. Julie has Bachelor Degrees in Psychology and Nursing, and a Master’s Degree in Community Health Nursing Education. She has taught in faculties of nursing and in various communities in Toronto, Canada and in Geneva, Switzerland, and is a consultant to the International Council of Nurses (ICN). Julie also has years of experience teaching English as a foreign language (EFL) in addition to coordinating an English department in a Swiss private school.
