Happiness starts and ends with me

Today is International Day of Happiness – a global celebration to help people recognise that human progress is not only about economic growth but also, about human happiness and well-being. It’s about making others feel good about themselves. It’s about helping and sharing with others.

Today I’m in Ottawa, Canada, caring for my mother who was rushed to hospital this week. I have made the well-worth trip from Switzerland to Canada to be with my mom and help my sisters. I’m happy to be here. And in my heart, I know it is the right thing to do.

When you help others, you spread happiness. However, happiness cannot be spread if you don’t make that inner effort to be happy. Happiness is a choice and it starts with each and everyone of us. As Eric Ease says, happiness in this world starts and ends with me.

FROM STRUGGLE TO STRENGTH

No one else is responsible for making me happy. That is an inside job and my choice. I can either choose to allow my situations to define me and make me feel miserable or I can accept my situations, deal with them, learn from them and keep it moving.

I can always choose at any point in my day to start over.

But I will never give up!

Happiness starts and ends with me.

Peace and Blessings

Eric Ease
